Hope Won

"Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people. - Eleanor Roosevelt"

For many people around the world, including myself, today was a bright new day full of hope and relief. Yesterday, when Barack Obama was elected President, was a historic day that sparked excitement all over to world. The prime minister of France called the results "the fall of the Berlin wall, times ten". I feel proud of all of the people that took the time to pay attention this election, no matter who they voted for. I feel it is so important to stay informed and be involved in politics, no matter how messy and silly it can get. I can feel an electric vibe that has swept across the whole nation, especially among young voters that I have never seen before. (in my looooong 28 years of life) I am so excited to see what is in store for us in the next 4 years, maybe 8! I'm sure Obama will make mistakes, his is a politition after all. I certainly don't agree with him 100% of the time, but I do know this: He is a leader. He inspires. He invokes hope for the future, and I am proud to have him as my President. I only hope that we all, no matter what party we follow, might band together and recognize our similarities, not our differences to make this a stronger country and a happier, safer place to live. That we might be able to help each other get through tough times and to keep moving forward. I hope that we might be able to look at other people through the eyes of God, as His beautiful children. I have two stickers on my car. One is "life is good". (actually it's a window cling) That sums it up for me in 3 little words. The other is an "Obama/Biden" sticker. This is a removable sticker, that I planned on taking off after the election... but now there is another that I want to add. I am really torn, because I really am not a bumper sticker person, but it has such a great message. Maybe I'll get a shirt or something:
