I encourage anyone who reads this to print these specific instructions and run to your nearest McDonald's. You will not regret it. When prepared my way, and only my way, this salad far surpasses any other salad I've had even at the most expensive restaurant. It takes a few minutes and some effort, but WELL WORTH IT!
1. Order a Southwest salad. Now you can choose grilled or crispy chicken. My favorite is grilled, but both taste great. If you are brave enough, ask for extra "veggie mix" for your salad. This is the corn and black bean stuff. In my opinion, it requires a couple of tablespoons more than they usually put on the salad.
2. Cut your salad. Using your fork and knife, cut the chicken and large pieces of lettuce into smaller more bite-sized pieces.
3. Squeeze your lime over the entire salad.
4. Open Newman's Own Southwest salad dressing, evenly distribute HALF of dressing over the top of the salad.
5. Close the lid on top of salad and SHAKE. Shaking forward and back instead of up and down works the best.
6. Evenly distribute the other half of the dressing.
7. Close lid, shake again.
8. EAT!!
I see people in the restaurant not eating it this way, and I really want to stop and teach them. You won't believe the difference. I am expecting comments on this blog about your experiences after you try it this way. In my opinion, it's best followed up with a "cinnamon melt" for dessert. A flavor explosion meal.
