Zoo, etc.

zoo
We had a good time at the zoo yesterday with Uncle Nate. Greta got to feed the goat for the first time. Every other time she tells me she wants to then wimps out at the end so I end up feeding the goats which really isn't that thrilling to me. The goat noticed that Austin had some treats in his stroller cup holder and dove into that. I threw away all the treats, wiped it out with a diaper wipe, then rubbed it with hand sanitizer. The elephants and whales seem to be the favorite animals with both kids. I love having a zoo so close that we can just go for a couple of hours every week or so. This time I actually remembered to take the camera. etc.
Today I asked Greta what she wanted to do. She said she wanted to make cookies with me. Oh, Joy. I actually love to cook, but baking with a two year old and a one year old at your feet is not really very enjoyable. It took a LONG time. I took a picture of her mashing the carrots. She did most of that herself. She also likes to turn on the mixer for me.
We had a couple of weeks of really horrible weather. It was torture. The news was calling it June-u-ary. FINALLY Thursday was sunny and nice. Today we played outside for a long time. The kids love to play in the back yard. Austin is just learning to walk, and I think the grass doesn't feel very good on his knees so he tends to walk more often when he's in the grass. I turned on the bounce house for the kids, and Austin went on the swing. (Greta is afraid of the swing) It was a nice evening.

Finally, I found this really cool song online. It's all about the current Apostles. Greta LOVES to watch it. She can name a few of them already. I thought it was fun.
